The LIAV has designed membership categories to suit most sectors of the landscape industry.

Contractor or Designer membership

 
A Contractor or Designer membership is available to an established landscape contractor or landscape designer actively (but not necessarily exclusively) practising the trade of designing, constructing and/or maintaining gardens.

Membership is awarded to a business that has been operating for a minimum of two years.   This is done through the qualifying individual who becomes the nominated representative.  Where businesses are formed by a partnership of two or more people, all partners are regarded as members and have the rights of one voting member between all.

If the business has been operating for less than two years, application may be made for Provisional membership.

Country membership


A (discounted) Country membership is available to a landscape contractor or designer who lives more than 75Km from the Melbourne GPO.

Provisional membership


Provisional members are landscape contractors or designers who have either recently qualified and are starting their own business, or have been operating their own business for less than two years.  A one-off, up-front subscription fee of $325 will cover the cost of Provisional membership for up to two years, and the cost of applying for Full membership when the applicant becomes eligible.

Provisional membership is for a minimum of one year, and a maximum of two. To transfer from Provisional to Full membership after the 1-2 years, the current eligibility requirements must be met, including providing a formal business plan, details of three projects, attending an assessment interview, and additionally attending one LIAV training and development workshop per year of Provisional membership.

Supplier membership


An LIAV Supplier membership is open to any business that supplies goods and/or services relevant to the landscape Industry.

Student membership


A Student member must be enrolled in a recognised course for landscape design, construction or maintenance. Evidence of student status must be provided. Student membership is on an individual basis, not a business name, and is available for a maximum of four years.  Student members are eligible for the LIAV Group Insurance Scheme.
